Two girls are receiving death threats on Twitter by N-Dubz fans after they accused rapper Dappy of spitting at them.

One person tweeted: ‘I hope you and your mate die a horrible death,’ while another wrote: ‘Hope you drop dead.’

Serena Burton and Grace Cochran, both 19, said they have been shocked by the threatening tweets.

Witnesses: It was alleged that Dappy spat at Grace Cochran, right, and Serena Burton, left, after they rejected his advances

Miss Burton said: ‘We are the victims. It was a horrible, frightening experience.

The rapper, whose real name is Costadinos Contostavlos, is now facing a three year jail term after he was found guilty of affray and assault by beating at Guildford Crown Court last week.

The 25-year-old was cleared of two common assault charges which included spitting at the girls.

The week-long trial heard that Dappy had been out on February 27 last year when a brawl took place.

He was celebrating the release of his single Rockstar featuring Queen guitarist Brian May.

After spending the night in the VIP area of the Casino nightclub in Guildford, the group travelled back in three cars to the recording studios in Godalming, where Dappy was recording his debut solo album.

On the way they stopped at the Shell garage in Woodbridge Road, Guildford, at about 3.30am on February 28.

Brian Stork, prosecuting, claimed that Dappy approached Grace Cochran and Serena Burton who were sitting on the kerb outside the station shop and tried to persuade them to get into the car with him to continue the party at the studios.

The court was told that when they refused these advances and began to ridicule him, Dappy allegedly became angry and called them sluts.

He told the court: ‘They had shown me disrespect, a lot.’

He was then accused of spitting at them but missing – the two counts of common assault faced by the singer – which he denied.

Mr Stork said a man called David Jenkins who had been talking to the two women then stepped in to protect them but was spat at by Dappy.

Mr Jenkins, 24, lost several teeth in the fight which also involved Dappy’s friends. According to the girls, they only realised it was Dappy when police told them a couple of weeks after the incident.

‘Looking back, I think Dappy was put out that we didn’t recognise him, Miss Cochran told The Sunday People.

‘It was nothing to do with him being a celebrity.’

Dappy, of North London, also took to Twitter after the trial to vent his anger.

He wrote: ‘Not guilty for spitting at the females but guilt of for defending myself from the the 3 males.

The rapper, who is cousin and bandmate of X Factor judge Tulisa, will be sentenced on February 15.

Somebody that I offered advice to on Twitter sent me an offensive reply which upset me. It was about honey, so trivial! I’ve never bothered with twitter since then, people think they can say what they like but they wouldn’t dare do so to your face.

Whilst…. “I hope you and your mate die a horrible death,’ while another wrote: ‘Hope you drop dead”… isnt exactly a nice thing to say, I am not sure it actually constitutes a death threat (as per the headline) does it ?

It just goes to show that his fans are as brain dead as Dappy.
